1. TO ENTER the 2010 JUNO AWARDS | STEP INTO THE LIMELIGHT contest (the “Contest”) simply visit the web site located at www.junos.ctv.ca, click on the Contest page, complete and submit your entry by following the instructions found on the site. In the event of a dispute, entries received on-line shall be deemed to be submitted by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. All first time entries must include your vote for the "Juno™ Fan Choice Award presented by Pepsi®", first and last name, address, email address, age and ten digit day time and evening telephone number. Limit of one (1) entry per individual, per e-mail address and per telephone number per day. If it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once per day, all your entries will be void. Contest starts at 12:00:01 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on Monday, February 08, 2010 and closes on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). There is one (1) grand prize (the "Grand Prize") available to be won and four (4) consolation prizes (“Consolation Prize”) available to be won . No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
2. The contest sponsors are CTV Television Inc., PepsiCo Canada ULC, and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (“CARAS”) (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Sponsors”).
3. To enter, entrant must be a legal resident of Canada and be thirteen (13) years of age or older. This Contest is not open to employees, representatives, and agents of the Contest Sponsors, their parent, related and affiliated companies, prize suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, members of the jury and/or all persons residing or domiciled with these persons. Minors must be accompanied at all times by a parent or legal guardian. Entrants who are under the age of majority at the date of entry are eligible to enter the Contest and win a prize provided that the parent or legal guardian of the entrant accepts any such prize and the terms and conditions hereof for and on behalf of such entrant. A winner of a CTV contest within the three (3) months preceding the start of this contest (including persons designated by such winners to take ownership of prizes) and persons domiciled with a winner are not eligible to enter.
4. GRAND PRIZE - There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be won. Grand Prize includes a trip for four (4) to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, four (4) tickets to attend the 2010 Juno Awards™ ceremony, and ground transportation to and from the Sponsor-designated hotel in St. John’s and the 2010 Juno Awards™ ceremony. The Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to assist in the presentation of the "Juno™ Fan Choice Award presented by Pepsi®" to the winner of the Award (in a non-speaking role, if determined by the Contest Sponsors in their sole discretion) during the live broadcast of the 2010 Juno Awards™ ceremony. Grand Prize winner will also receive a makeover which will include hair and makeup prior to the 2010 Juno Awards™ ceremony. Trip includes: round trip economy air transportation for four (4) people from a major Canadian airport closest to the Grand Prize winner's place of residence in Canada (hereinafter referred to as the "Departure Point"); four (4) nights standard accommodation (based on two (2) rooms, double occupancy) as chosen by the Contest Sponsors, plus two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) CDN in spending money. Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions are solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein including, without limitation, applicable taxes, fuel/currency surcharges, meals and beverages, room service, gratuities, merchandise, telephone calls, fax or cable charges, insurance together with any required travel documentation, and all personal expenses of any kind or nature. Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions must travel together on the same itinerary. Departure dates and accommodation are subject to availability and may change without notice or compensation. Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions are also solely responsible for all costs incurred to and from the Departure Point airport as the Grand Prize originates and terminates there. It is the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions to obtain all necessary medical and travel related necessities and documentation including passports. Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions must be able to travel at the times and dates as determined by the Contest Sponsors in their sole discretion and authority failing which the Grand Prize will be forfeited. It is recommended that Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. In the event the Grand Prize winner is under the age of majority, he or she must be accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian at all times while participating in all components of the Grand Prize. Travel must take place between Thursday, April 15, 2010 and Monday, April 19, 2010. Due to the nature of the Grand Prize, no alternate travel dates are available. Travelling companions must be thirteen (13) years of age or older in order to participate. In the event the travelling companion is under the age of majority, he or she must be accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian at all times while participating in all components of the Grand Prize, as the travelling companion. Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) CDN based on Toronto, Ontario departure. In the event the Grand Prize winner resides within a 200 km radius of St. John's, the Grand Prize is deemed not to include air transportation and no cash will be provided in lieu thereof. In this event, ground transportation will be substituted for air transportation.
5. CONSOLATION PRIZES: There are four (4) Consolation Prizes available to be won. Each Consolation Prize includes one (1) 40” LCD television. Approximate retail value $800 CDN each.
6. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prizes may not be sold, transferred and are not convertible to cash. Contest Sponsors reserve the right to substitute any prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of a prize is unavailable. Prize winners are solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein. No change in travel arrangements can be made by the Grand Prize winner once the booking has been confirmed. The Grand Prize may not be used towards any type of frequent flyer mileage, or other reward point accumulation program.
7. HOW YOU COULD WIN: On or after Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a random draw will take place in Toronto, Ontario at CTV Television Inc. Five (5) entries will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Each of the five (5) selected entrants will be contacted by a representative of the Contest Sponsors and asked to: (1) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question; and (2) participate in an individual conference call interview (to be set at a mutually agreeable predetermined time). If a selected entrant does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question or if a selected entrant refuses to take part in the interview, the selected entrant will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted by telephone within two (2) business days after the draw, he or she will be disqualified and an alternate entrant will be randomly selected. If a selected entrant is under the age of majority, his or her parent or legal guardian will be contacted on their behalf. Proof of identification must be provided upon request.
During the interview, each of the five (5) selected entrants will be asked a series of questions. The subject matter of the questions will be in relation to this Contest and the Juno Awards™, and the responses will be judged based on creativity, passion and knowledge. The selected entrant with the highest score will be awarded the Grand Prize. The remaining four (4) selected entrants that completed the interview will each receive a Consolation Prize.
The odds of being selected as one of the five entrants to participate in the interview depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The odds of being selected as the Grand Prize winner are 1 in 5 and depend upon the selected entrants’ interview scores.
Before being awarded any prize, potential winners, and in the case of the Grand Prize, the winner’s traveling companions, or if under the age of majority, his or her parent or legal guardian, will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsors, a full release and indemnity form stating that he/she has read and understood these official contest rules and regulations (“Rules”). All prize winners, and in the case of the Grand Prize, both the Grand Prize winner and his/her travelling companions, or if under the age of majority, his or her respective parent or legal guardian, must grant all consents required, authorize the Contest Sponsors to broadcast, publish, record and disseminate his/her name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, the 2010 Juno Awards™ ceremony and/or the Juno™ Fan Choice Award, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, or travelling companions as the case may be, beyond the awarding of a prize or participation in a prize, accepts the prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsors from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s, and/or travelling companions’ as the case may be, participation in this Contest and receipt and use of a prize. In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, Contest Sponsors shall have the right to disqualify any potential winner, and draw an alternate potential winner and the Contest Sponsors shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
8. By entering this Contest the entrants and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these Rules. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors with respect to any aspect of this Contest, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding on all entrants in all matters as they relate to this Contest.
9. All entries become property of CTV Television Inc. who assumes no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting names of prize winner (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). CTV Television Inc. does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials-data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsors, in their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond their control, Contest Sponsors reserve their right (subject only to the consent of the Regie des alcools, des course et des jeux) to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest including canceling any method of entry, and select a winner from previously received eligible entries. Contest Sponsors reserve their right (subject only to the consent of the Regie des alcools, des course et des jeux) to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The Contest Sponsors reserve their right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Contest Sponsors in their sole discretion, further reserve their right to terminate the on-line portion, as applicable, of the Contest and conduct the drawing from all on-line entries and all other entries (as applicable) previously received during the Contest Period. Any attempts to deliberately damage the Contest web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made the Contest Sponsors reserve their right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Contest Sponsors shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest or from downloading any material from the Contest web site, where applicable.
10. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Personal information collected from entrants will be used by Contest Sponsors for the purpose of administering this Contest, awarding prizes and, if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the entrants with marketing information relating to new and existing products and upcoming promotions of CTV Television Inc. by mail or e-mail. Entrants are able to opt in with respect to receiving such marketing information online. CTV Television Inc. will not sell, share or otherwise disclose personal information of entrants with third parties, other than to third parties engaged by them to fulfill the above purposes or as permitted or required by law. By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in CTV Television Inc.'s Privacy policy at ctv.ca. Any inquiry concerning the personal information held by the Contest Sponsors should be addressed to CTV Television Inc. at 299 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M5V 2Z5.
11. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of this Contest may be submitted to the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Quebec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
12. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English language version and the French language version of the Contest Rules, as applicable, the English version shall prevail, govern and control.
13. All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade-names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Contest Sponsors and or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
