CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE WEEKLY CASH PRIZE CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Watch CTV News at 6PM every Thursday (on the local cable or satellite channel in your area) or watch TVA on Thursdays and Fridays between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM local time from Thursday November 17th, 2005 to Monday January 2nd, 2005 to identify the weekly Chrysler codeword in the contest spot.
2. Contest starts at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on Thursday November 17, 2005 and closes on Monday January 2, 2006 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the "Contest Period"). There are seven (7) weekly prizes (each, a "Prize", collectively, the "Prizes") to be won. Limit of one Prize per household. TO ENTER the Chrysler Jeep Dodge Weekly Cash Prize contest (the "Contest") simply visit any participating Chrysler auto dealership in Canada and pick up a contest entry card during normal business days and hours between November 17th, 2005 and December 31, 2005 containing an 12 digit code and watch CTV News at 6:00 PM every Thursday or watch TVA on Thursdays and Fridays between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM local time during the Contest Period for the Chrysler codeword. Then visit the web site located at www.ctv.ca or the web site located at tva.canoe.com, click on the Contest page and complete and submit your entry by following the instructions found at the site. All entries must include your name, address, age, ten digit day and evening telephone numbers, e-mail address and the 12 digit code found printed on the ballot and the Chrysler codeword. You can enter the contest between Thursday at 6:00 p.m. ET to Monday at 11:59:59 p.m. ET each week of the Contest Period. A blackout period begins at 12:01 a.m. ET on every Tuesday and ends at 5:59:59 a.m ET on each Thursday. Limit of one entry per individual per week, regardless of the email addresses, telephone numbers or addresses provided. Limit of one Prize per household. Entries received on-line shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Illegible or incomplete entries are ineligible. No purchase necessary.
3. The contest sponsor(s) is/are: CTV Television Inc. and DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc. (DCCI) (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest Sponsor(s)").
4. To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Canada and be over the age of majority and hold a valid driver's license in his or her province or territory of residence. Employees and their spouses, parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with an employee of any of the Contest Sponsor(s), its/their agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, retailers, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators, are ineligible to enter.
5. Prizes: There are seven (7) weekly Prizes each consisting of one (1) cheque in the amount of twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000.00 Cdn.). In addition, each Prize winner will be automatically entered into the "You Could be a Millionaire" contest (the "DCCI Contest") sponsored solely by DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc. for a chance to win $1,000,000 Cdn. CTV Television Inc., Groupe TVA inc. and their affiliated companies are not sponsors of the DCCI Contest and accept no responsibility in relation thereto. Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded. The Prize(s) may not be transferred. Contest Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right to substitute the Prize(s) in whole or in part.
6. Each Tuesday during the Contest Period at approximately 10:00 a.m. ET, a random draw will take place at CTV Television, Scarborough, Ontario, from among all eligible entries received up to the applicable closing date. The following are the weekly closing dates and the applicable draw dates: 1st week closes on Monday November 21st, 2005 - winner draw on Tuesday November 22nd, 2005; 2nd week closes on Monday November 28th, 2005 - winner draw on Tuesday November 29th, 2005; 3rd week closes on Monday December 5th, 2005 - winner draw on Tuesday December 6th, 2005; 4th week closes on Monday December 12th, 2005 - winner draw on Tuesday December 13th, 2005; 5th week closes on Monday December 19th, 2005 - winner draw on Tuesday December 20th, 2005; 6th week closes on Monday December 26th, 2005 - winner draw on Tuesday December 27th, 2005; 7th week closes on Monday January 2nd, 2006 - winner draw on Tuesday January 3rd, 2006. The first entry drawn in each draw will be eligible to win the weekly Prize. The odds of winning a Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received up to the time of the draw for which you are entered. CTV Television Inc., acting reasonably, will attempt to contact each selected entrant by telephone within two (2) business days after the draw. In the event the potential winner cannot be contacted within 2 business days after the draw, he or she will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be drawn. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a winner, potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by CTV Television Inc. by telephone. Before being awarded a Prize, potential winner will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsor(s), a full release and indemnity form stating that he/she has read and understood these official rules and regulations ("Rules"), grants all consents required, authorizes the Contest Sponsor(s) to broadcast, publish and disseminate his/her name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsor(s) and Groupe TVA inc. from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner's participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Prize. In the event that the potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, Contest Sponsor(s) shall have the right to disqualify potential winner and draw an alternate potential winner and the Contest Sponsor(s) shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. The provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and notification of a potential winner shall be applied, with the necessary amendments, until a qualified winner has been duly selected.
7. Groupe TVA inc. and its affiliated companies are not sponsors of this Contest, accept no responsibility and may not be held responsible in any way with regards to the organization of this Contest and/or the delivery of the prizes.
8. By entering this Contest, the entrants and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these Rules. All decisions of the Contest Sponsor(s) with respect to any aspect of this Contest, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding on all entrants in all matters as they relate to this Contest, under reserve, for residents of Quebec, of a decision of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, for any question under its jurisdiction.
9. All entries become the property of Contest Sponsor(s) who assume no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected entries, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting names of Prize winner(s) (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). Contest Sponsor(s) does/do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsor(s), in its/their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its/their control, Contest Sponsor(s) reserve(s) its/their right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest including canceling any method of entry, and to select a winner from previously received eligible entries. Contest Sponsor(s) reserve(s) its/their right to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The Contest Sponsor(s) reserve(s) its/their right in its/their sole discretion to disqualify any individual it/they find(s) to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Contest Sponsor(s) in its/their sole discretion, further reserve(s) its/their right to terminate the on-line portion, as applicable, of the Contest and conduct the drawing from all on-line entries previously received during the Contest Period. Any attempts to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made the Contest Sponsor(s) reserve(s) its/their right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Contest Sponsors shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an entrant's computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest or from downloading any material from the Contest web site, where applicable.
10. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Personal information collected from entrants will be used by CTV Television Inc. ("CTV') and DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc. ("DCCI") for the purpose of administering and statistical analysis of this Contest and, if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the entrants with marketing information relating to Chrysler products. Entrants are able to opt in to receive such marketing information online. Personal information of the seven (7) winners of this Contest will further be disclosed to DCCI and used by DCCI in connection with the DCCI Contest. CTV and DCCI will not sell, share or otherwise disclose personal information of entrants with third parties, other than to third parties engaged by them to fulfill the above purposes or as permitted or required by law. By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in the CTV Privacy Policy at www.ctv.ca and the DCCI Privacy Policy at www.daimlerchrysler.ca.
11. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of this contest may be submitted to the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Quebec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
